A few days ago I discovered Z100, “New York’s number 1 #hit music station”. It was mentioned by Q-music dj Bart-Jan Depraetere in the radio tips in Humo.
From his tips:

“Z100 is New Yorks number one hit music station, and the musical equivalent of three strong espresso’s right after eachother. It’s going so fast it makes you extremely nervous, but that represents the life in New York perfectly. Also, try to count how often the dj’s says ‘Z100′ in one hour.”

Truly worth checking out if you want to know which music is ‘hot’ in NY at the moment.

Somewhat related: Virgin Radio in the UK. Even though they are not a top 40 hits station (their music selection is usually quite good, actually), their whole pace is so over the top you sometimes get exhausted just by listening to it. They also score bonus points in my book by being one of the first stations to stream in high quality Ogg Vorbis format.
